And if our God is for us….

“He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge.”
Proverbs 14:26

Some people have stated that “fear not” or any of its derivatives are found 365ish times in the Bible. Others say it’s 60 or so. I’m glad we have this to argue about. Seriously. What else would we talk about? I’m facing a huge fear at the moment. I’m basically standing behind a door that’s going to open in the morning and reveal a whole new world to me. New people, new tasks, and other things that I don’t know to expect are waiting for me. So what should I be thinking? I’m not sick to my stomach like usual (that can be expected in the morning). I cry in fear of losing an old life that I have outgrown. I worry that I may forget something and not be prepared, that my clothes might be wrinkled, that I’ll be late. I tried polishing my shoes, but that art has never been passed to me. Fear is oozing in my heart from my hands, my feet, and my head. But what is there to fear? If I believe God coordinates every aspect of my life (which while some may think that’s a negative, by all means Lord, do with me what You will; You know better than I do), then what do I have to be afraid of? If I truly believe God is working for my good and that He will call me home when He chooses, what do I have to fear? If I can’t screw up God’s plan (and you can’t mess it up either), then why am I afraid?
And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what could stand against? (DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH!) Our God is greater. Our God is stronger. God, You are higher than any other.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thess 5:16-18

Thanks God 🙂
